As part of cook school the children have been making their own pizzas !
Much tastier, cheaper, healthier and more importantly much more fun !
The children have made their own dough, measuring out the ingredients, kneading and rolling the dough.
They chose their own pizza toppings, discussing where they come from and what is healthy and unhealthy and having a go at chopping them.
The children have also been learning where food comes from using real foods, reading books and drawing different fruits and vegetables.
They have explored the foods, learning names of new ones and describing the different textures.
They used weighing scales to explore and talk about which were heaviest and lightest.
As well as pizzas they have made their own ice cream and fettuccine.
We had a visit this morning from Katie Bear from the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
She came to thank the children for raising lots of money to help the young patients at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit based at the LGI
